The Burberry catwalks were abundant with pastel hues this season.

NOW than February is almost over, we can be comforted by the fact that winter won’t be here for that much longer.
Right now, you’re probably swathed in layers of woolen jumpers, tights and thermals, so spring might seem like a million miles away.
Well, think again. Because despite it still very obviously being winter outside, inside the shops it’s actually spring.
The high street is already ridding itself of heavy jumpers and filling shop rails with fresh collections for the season ahead.
Which means we’re left with no other choice but to start preparing what to buy during the transitional period between winter and spring.
A major trend that is already emerging for 2014 is candy-coloured items which will add a sweet edge to your wardrobe.
Perfect for in-between climates, a pastel-hued coat will keep you snug whilst remaining on-trend when the flowers begin to bloom.

Rocha’s a/w 2014 collection also featured pale pink coats.

Opt for mesmerising shades of coral, sugared-almond and duck-egg blue in a masculine cut to keep you from looking saccharine sweet. This look is extremely versatile and can be worn with both sharp tailoring or pretty dresses, depending on the occasion.

Speaking of dresses, it’s time to go girly and try out shades of pink, lilac and lemon in simple shapes for a minimalistic but feminine vibe.

Right now I’m loving this bold pink skirt suit from Miss Selfridge (below), which looks like it’s been catapulted straight off the s/s catwalks.

Another way to try out this look is to brighten up some separates with a candyfloss knit jumper or macaroon-coloured blouse. Throw on over neutrals or pair with sugar-coated jeans to inject some fun into an otherwise laidback outfit.
