GORGEOUS PRODUCT: This lipstick beats its high-end rivals hands down.

MY vows have been broken. I have just spent an absurd amount of money on the cost of one lipstick.
But I must tell you, it has been completely and utterly worth it. I just don’t know how I’ll break free from this latest obsession.
Having always been completely unabashed about my love for lipsticks, I still felt there was an absolute limit to the price I’d pay.
With the likes of high-end brands such as Chanel and Guerlain charging often up to £25 for a tube, I was stunned when I came across the cost of Lipstick Queen’s products, which can go up to £35 a pop.
However, being as curious as I always am, one day I was out shopping and couldn’t help but indulge in a slick of the brand’s Velvet Rope collection to see if it was really worth it.

After a quick glance in the mirror, I felt my heart skip apace. Not at myself, of course — I’m certainly not that vain — but at the sheer desire to buy this glorious product.
Like the new lover you know instantly is just right for you, upon application of Velvet Rope, I wondered why I’d been missing out for all these years.
Unlike Mac Cosmetics lipsticks which can often feel drying on the lips, this one has a buttery soft finish which leaves your pout velvety and refined, whilst giving the appearance of larger lips.
Both the pigment and finish of this lipstick is incontesable. After a full day of shopping and several cups of coffee, plus food, the colour remained impeccable and only had to be topped up once.
One of the most notable things about this product is that it’s extremely smoothing and glides like silk, delivering the drama and intensity of a matte shade without compromising on comfort or requiring additional lip balm.
Part of that comes from ingredients Vitamin E and Apricot Oil to ensure lips remain moisturised and supple and the final addition of Peppermint Oil to add a clean and subtle scent.
The packaging is also pure luxury — worthy of display — with it coming in an expensive gold case and blue velvet box.

I purchased my first Lipstick Queen product in the shade Private Party, a gorgeous, transforming shade of hot pink which instantly brightens the face.
“I was inspired by the golden years of Hollywood when glamour was in every detail,” says Poppy King, Lipstick Queen founder.
“This is the lipstick of the red carpet, the people, the places and the personalities that glide past the Velvet Rope and into the night.”
The simple pleasure if makeup is made a million times better when you finally find a product you don’t regret buying, and that’s certainly the case with this one.
Lavish and luxurious, it’s obvious why this lipstick is on the high-end of the price range. And it’s so worth it.

Lipstick Queen can be bought from the Space NK store in Princes Square, Glasgow.
