TRIED AND TESTED: The best foundations for 2019

IF there’s one thing we have to get right when it comes to makeup, it’s foundation.
After all, it’s the base of the rest of our beauty look and most of us are always striving for perfectly clear skin.
It’s hard to pick a natural-looking base which lasts us the full day without the need for touch-ups.
However each of these tried and tested formulas are must-haves to own for 2019.

EX1 foundation, £12.50

THIS barely there base gives skin a naturally luminous, semi-matte finish.
I love wearing this when I’m looking for pared-back, flawless skin that looks almost completely natural.
With buildable coverage and light-reflecting particles which give the skin a healthy but non-shiny glow, this is my favourite high street foundation of all.

NARS naturally radiant foundation, £35

FOR luminous skin and weightless coverage, NARS Natural Radiant Foundation is the No.1 formula.
I love the soft and dewy glow this offers skin whilst providing a buildable, long-lasting finish throughout the day.
Although this gives a natural finish, it offers a medium to full coverage and has enough to cover redness and spots.
This feels supremely nourishing, light air and hydrating on the skin whilst helping provide a radiant complexion.
Perfect for those who want a naturally flawless look which won’t melt off after a few hours.

Lancome Ultra Wear, £32

THOSE who love a flawless finish will cherish this porcelain-esque formula for years to come.
This liquid foundation is long lasting and provides full coverage without feeling cakey, leaving skin feeling comfortable all day.
Boasting a 24-hour wear, this is perfect for gigs and festivals as it allows you to go out and be your best without needing to retouch on the go.
Teint Idole Ultra Wear is transfer free and smudge free, giving you confidence to carry on with your day without the need of blotting sheets.
One that’s perfect for oily / combination skin types.

MAC Studiofix Fluid, £26

STUDIOFIX fluid is the cult foundation that every makeup artist has in their kit.
And it’s no wonder when this not only provides a medium to full coverage finish, but also looks flawless in photographs.
The expanded MAC Studio Fix spectrum now includes an unprecedented 64 shades of iconic Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15, meaning it’s easier than ever to match to your skintone.
Expect this to last all day and night and provide skin with an oil-controlling, medium to matte finish which won’t go cakey throughout the day.

Inglot AMC Cream Foundation, £22

THIS water-based cream foundation gives you seriously gorgeous skin.
I received a ton of compliments upon wearing the matte-radiant formula based upon how flawless and natural it looked.
Containing added illuminators to give a dewy appearance, it also boasts brightening ingredients such as Vitamin E, peptides, and special polyesters.
Brides to be should seriously look at wearing this on their wedding day.
