Oscars 2014 Beauty: Get the red carpet look
FANCY looking like you’ve just stepped off the red carpet? Then check out these fabulous products for glowing skin and sultry eyes as spotted at this year’s Oscars. After all, it’s almost Friday…
Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm, £19
STUNNING Oscar-winning star, Lupita Nyong’o, revealed Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm as her Academy Awards ceremony clutch bag essential.
Gracing the red carpet in her pale blue Prada frock at last week’s Oscar’s, the talented actress accentuated her look with a glowing complexion, glossy coral lips and a beaming smile.
This intensively repairing and conditioning lip treatment, containing essential Rose Wax, provides immediate comfort whilst the slanted tip makes application effortless.
This is a fantastic product for those who suffer dreaded chapped lips or want to add some sheen to your usual lippy.
Pricier than your regular lip balm but definitely worth it.
Yves Rocher Youthful Glow Foundation, £27
LESS is more was the rule for this year’s beauty look at the Oscar’s.
Subtle makeup was made special with radiant complexions and a hint of a smokey eye as proved by glamour queen Kate Hudson.
For glowing skin like Kate’s, opt for a hydrating base containing the word ‘glow’ to create a visibly youthful effect.
Yves Rocher have launched a Youthful Glow version of their acclaimed foundation, which claims to reduce the signs of ageing but still provides a satin, subtle matte finish.
On application, this foundation feels hydrating without being oily and once it settles in will give you a gorgeous, natural radiance.
This is great for both young and mature skin types and contains pearls to allow a better match with your skin without accentuating fine lines or blemishes.
This enhances complexions flawlessly, making you look well rested — even if you’re secretly sporting a hangover.
Urban Tan in Fair Maiden, £18.99
PALE dresses were complimented with sun-kissed skin at the ceremonies, much as usual.
Celebrities looked naturally tanned whilst avoiding the dreaded oompa-loompa look.
Although I despise the chore of applying false tan, it makes it a whole lot easier if I’m left with great results.
Urban Tan is my favourite false tanning brand at the moment, as their products also combine Vitamin E, Green Tea, Matrixyl Synthe 6, Co Enzyme Q10 and Caffeine to help combat cellulite and give intense skin conditioning.
I recently tried out their Fair Maiden product, a light-medium sunless tanning cream which is made especially for paler skin tones.
This glides on effortlessly, smells great and doesn’t leave streaks.
Beauty UK Eyeshadow Kit, £4.99
As mentioned before, smokey eyes took centre stage for Hollywood starlets this year.
Coral and pale pink lips became the new red and were teamed with smokey eyes and lashing of eyeliner.
To achieve the look without having to splurge, opt for a kit which contains all the essentials in one.
I’m loving high street cosmetics brand Beauty UK’s Earth Child Eyeshadow Palette, £4.99, which has been launched just in time for St Patrick’s day and has ten shades in one mini palette.
Shades of bronze, neutral browns and eye-popping greens make this perfect for achieving a sultry look, and it’s still small enough to pop in your clutch.
Use the pale shades as a highlighter and in the tear ducts to open up your eyes and mix teal and bronze to make your eye colour really pop.
