Sheenashona Bar Boutique in Glasgow’s Corinthian Club
SIPPING champagne while dripping yourself in jewellery sounds like every woman’s dream.
So that’s why one of my new favourite hangout spots is the Sheenashona Boutique bar in Glasgow’s prestigious Corithian Club – an Aladdins cave where you can sip cocktails and drool over diamonds at the same time.
Luxury Scottish brand, Sheenashona jewellery, recently launched its new range inside a glitzy boutique bar in the Ingram Street club.
Its founders, sisters Sheena Jack and Shona Bain, unveiled their stunning collections in autumn which featured a range of eye-catching gemstones.
The exciting new venture, Sheenashona Diamonds at Boutique, will run alongside the firm’s existing website.
Holding the vision that jewellery is as integral to our capsule wardrobe as handbags and shoes, Sheenashona captures this perfectly by creating modern pieces that can be worn every day and for any occasion.
Upon entering the boutique, it’s easy to be enthralled by the host of items on offer, particularly their quirky and colourful necklaces which include precious gemstones such as amethyst, blue topaz and moonstone.
I love the fact that their delicate but edgy pieces can be worn with a cocktail dress or jeans and a t-shirt and still look trendy.
Their pendant necklaces are also delicious – albeit alarmingly addictive – making you yearn for every one of the items on display.
Sheenashona is a heartwarming combination of the founders and sisters first names, often raising a smile or confused brow when they are first introduced.
Both glamorous and quintessentially British, the sisters talk excitedly of their passion for jewellery and latest ventures along with British design and craftsmanship. You can see this smart pair were made to combine their talents and work together.
And while I admit that the idea of a jewellery boutique combined with champagne may sound like a dangerous combination, the boutique is also an intimate place where you can enjoy a catch up with the girls or start seriously dropping hints to your other half.
Shona tells me as much as it’s a popular spot for couples who like to pop along and browse the selections of rings and bracelets, the bespoke pendants and lockets are also a regular choice for the more mature customers.
You can also personalise pieces at the shop and create unique lifelong gifts for your loved one as their creative team includes accomplished goldsmiths, silversmiths, jewellery designers, experienced manufactures and precision engineers who specialise in engraving.
While the Corinthian Club has hosted pop-up shops and launch events for a variety of brands since its refurbishment in 2010, this is the first time it has entered into a long-term partnership.
Julie McKim, sales and marketing executive for the club, said the two brands were ideally suited for one another.
“We are looking forward to working with Sheenashona,” she said. “Having collaborated with a range of fashion companies in the past, Boutique has consistently proved to be a popular venue for consumers seeking a unique shopping experience.”
So, if you’re ever tempted to pop in for a spot of shopping with the bonus of a posh drink, this is where the glitz and glamour is at.
After all, a girl can never have too many diamonds. Champagne, however? My headache’s starting to say otherwise.
