REVIEW: The Hidden Zen Room’s Pregnancy Massage – A Blissful Pause Before Baby
Tucked away in Finnieston’s charming Hidden Lane, The Hidden Zen Room is a wonderful pocket of calm amid Glasgow’s West End.
Just a few weeks shy of my baby’s due date, I booked a pregnancy massage in Glasgow with the wonderfully intuitive Michele – and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my third trimester.
From the outset, Michele made me feel at ease. She listened carefully as I described my late-pregnancy aches: stubborn shoulder and back tension, plus a relentless sciatic pain in my right leg that had been causing plenty of bother.

She tailored the treatment precisely to my needs, melting away knots and easing pressure points with just the right balance of firmness and comfort. Within minutes, the weight of discomfort began to lift.
What made the experience truly special, though, were the thoughtful extras Michele wove in. Towards the end, she incorporated gentle reiki healing and soothing sound therapy, leaving me feeling not just physically lighter, but emotionally centred. A heavenly head massage provided the perfect finale – the kind of blissful, floaty sensation you wish you could bottle and take home.

Equally as important, Michele herself is an absolute delight: warm, easy to talk to, and reassuring in a way that makes you forget any self-consciousness about a heavily pregnant body. I left The Zen Den walking more freely, sleeping more soundly, and feeling genuinely uplifted. In the final weeks of pregnancy – when your body can feel like it’s running a marathon every day – that’s no small gift.
For any expectant mum seeking pain relief, deep relaxation, and a generous dose of emotional care, Michele at The Hidden Zen Room is a true gem.
Five stars – and if I could, I’d give her six. Find out more on how to book here.
